SCHOOLED had a critically acclaimed sold-out run at the 2015 New York International Fringe Festival and was extended as part of the Fringe Encore Series at Soho Playhouse. It will be anthologized in
The Best Plays from American Theater Festivals, 2015 published by Applause Books.
SCHOOLED received a staged reading hosted by Broadway producer Ken Davenport (Kinky Boots, Chinglish) in December 2012, which starred Tony nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Peter Friedman (After the Revolution, Circle Mirror Transformation), Sarah Steele (HBO’s “Girls” and Slow Girl at Lincoln Center) and Zoë Winters (LCT’s 4000 Miles). Previous development includes readings at Naked Angels Tuesdays@9, a staged reading at the New Ohio Theatre directed by Obie Award winner Oliver Butler, starring Friedman and Phoebe Strole (Kung Fu, The Madrid), and a two week residency as part of New Helvetia Theatre’s Sacramento New Works Festiva with director Matthew Schneider.
THE ALL-AMERICANS make the political personal with provocative, emotionally potent, character-driven stories that question how we live today. They believe in the power of theater to change hearts and minds, to move us, shake us, to entertain us… and to leave us talking long after the curtain falls.
SCHOOLED reading at The New Ohio with Peter Friedman, Phoebe Strole, James Kautz and Mara Davi.
